# XKey vs Encrypted Messaging

The clearest difference is device support: XKey at 3 against Encrypted Messaging's 1. XKey also leads on iOS requirement (14.1 vs 17.6). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. XKey sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Encrypted Messaging sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
