# Shortnotes vs Memorize

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Shortnotes at none against Memorize's 1. Shortnotes also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Memorize's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Memorize sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Shortnotes asks for nothing beyond the download.

Shortnotes ships an update every 2 months, Memorize fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
