# Brilliant Bible vs First Scroll

The clearest difference is monetization model: First Scroll at freemium against Brilliant Bible's subscription. First Scroll also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly) and review sentiment (60% vs 44%). Brilliant Bible's advantage is ratings volume (4.5K vs 18) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brilliant Bible sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and First Scroll sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Brilliant Bible holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brilliant Bible has 4.5K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Brilliant Bible's written reviews are positive against 60% of First Scroll's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brilliant Bible ships an update monthly, First Scroll every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
