# Hourly Journal vs Promiso

The clearest difference is ads: Hourly Journal at none against Promiso's shown. Promiso's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hourly Journal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Promiso sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hourly Journal ships an update every 3 months, Promiso every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
