# Gonks vs Tangle

The clearest difference is rating: Gonks at 5.0 against Tangle's 4.6. Gonks also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). Tangle's advantage is ratings volume (27 vs 1) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gonks holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tangle has 27 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Gonks ships an update every 3 weeks, Tangle every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
