# e本棚 vs Reading Journal

The clearest difference is update cadence: Reading Journal at every 3 days against e本棚's every 2 months. e本棚's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. e本棚 sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Reading Journal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

e本棚 ships an update every 2 months, Reading Journal every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
