# Automobile Engineering Book vs Mechanical Formula

Automobile Engineering Book and Mechanical Formula both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Automobile Engineering Book's written reviews are positive against 0% of Mechanical Formula's. Automobile Engineering Book also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 4 months). Mechanical Formula's advantage is ratings volume (34 vs 9). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Automobile Engineering Book sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 3 months and Mechanical Formula sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mechanical Formula holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 34 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Automobile Engineering Book's written reviews are positive against 0% of Mechanical Formula's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Automobile Engineering Book ships an update every 5 weeks, Mechanical Formula every 4 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
