# Decibel Meter vs Link App

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Link App at none against Decibel Meter's 12. Link App also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). Decibel Meter's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (347 vs 5). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Decibel Meter sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Link App asks for nothing beyond the download.

Link App holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Decibel Meter has 347 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Decibel Meter's written reviews are positive against 67% of Link App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Decibel Meter ships an update every 2 weeks, Link App every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
