# Thinkdrop vs Rocket Typist

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Rocket Typist at 73% against Thinkdrop's 31%. Thinkdrop's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.1). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thinkdrop sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Rocket Typist sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Thinkdrop holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 35 and 24 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Thinkdrop's written reviews are positive against 73% of Rocket Typist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Thinkdrop ships an update every 3 weeks, Rocket Typist fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
