# Ear Training App vs Talented

The clearest difference is ads: Ear Training App at none against Talented's shown. Ear Training App also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 33%). Talented's advantage is ratings volume (56 vs 3) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ear Training App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Talented sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Talented holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Talented has 56 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Ear Training App's written reviews are positive against 33% of Talented's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
