# ChemTracker vs Authenticator ·

ChemTracker and Authenticator · both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of ChemTracker's written reviews are positive against 24% of Authenticator ·'s. ChemTracker also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 12) and iOS requirement (10.2 vs 15.0). Authenticator ·'s advantage is ratings volume (26K vs 7) and chart position (#45 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Authenticator · sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. ChemTracker asks for nothing beyond the download.

Authenticator · holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Authenticator · has 26K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of ChemTracker's written reviews are positive against 24% of Authenticator ·'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ChemTracker ships an update every 10 days, Authenticator · weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
