# Taro 香芋 vs SoMe

The clearest difference is rating: Taro 香芋 at 5.0 against SoMe's 4.4. Taro 香芋 also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). SoMe's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 33%) and ratings volume (22 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Taro 香芋 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SoMe has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Taro 香芋's written reviews are positive against 60% of SoMe's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Taro 香芋 ships an update fortnightly, SoMe monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
