# Jot / Notes vs Auer Jot

Jot / Notes and Auer Jot both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Auer Jot's written reviews are positive against 67% of Jot / Notes's. Jot / Notes's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.4). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Jot / Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Jot / Notes's written reviews are positive against 100% of Auer Jot's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Jot / Notes ships an update every 2 days, Auer Jot every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
