# BMI vs Ascend Labs

The clearest difference is ads: Ascend Labs at none against BMI's shown. Ascend Labs also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). BMI's advantage is ratings volume (201 vs 6) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BMI sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Ascend Labs sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ascend Labs holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BMI has 201 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.
