# SubMed vs Cathedra

The clearest difference is update cadence: Cathedra at every 5 days against SubMed's monthly. SubMed's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SubMed sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Cathedra sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SubMed ships an update monthly, Cathedra every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
