# FontMaker vs Lock Screen Widgets

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Lock Screen Widgets at 100% against FontMaker's 33%. Lock Screen Widgets also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). FontMaker's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (588 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FontMaker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Lock Screen Widgets sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FontMaker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FontMaker has 588 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of FontMaker's written reviews are positive against 100% of Lock Screen Widgets's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FontMaker ships an update every 2 months, Lock Screen Widgets every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
