# Text App vs Texting App

The clearest difference is monetization model: Texting App at free with in-app purchases against Text App's subscription. Texting App also leads on ads (none vs shown). Text App's advantage is chart position (#205 vs unranked) and ratings volume (9.7K vs 1.1K). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Texting App sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Text App against 4.5 for Texting App. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text App has 9.7K ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 34% and 33% positive.

Text App ships an update every 2 months, Texting App monthly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
