# A4 Typer vs Watermelon Cats

The clearest difference is update cadence: Watermelon Cats at every 8 days against A4 Typer's every 3 months. Watermelon Cats also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). A4 Typer's advantage is ratings volume (137 vs 6) and review sentiment (68% vs 51%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. A4 Typer sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Watermelon Cats sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Watermelon Cats holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: A4 Typer has 137 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of A4 Typer's written reviews are positive against 51% of Watermelon Cats's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

A4 Typer ships an update every 3 months, Watermelon Cats every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
