# Thundersnow vs weatherUSA

The clearest difference is ads: Thundersnow at none against weatherUSA's shown. Thundersnow also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 33%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). weatherUSA's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

weatherUSA holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 12 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Thundersnow's written reviews are positive against 33% of weatherUSA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Thundersnow ships an update every 3 weeks, weatherUSA every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
