# HopSkipDrive CareDriver vs BBC Driver

The clearest difference is monetization model: BBC Driver at free against HopSkipDrive CareDriver's free with in-app purchases. BBC Driver also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). HopSkipDrive CareDriver's advantage is ratings volume (7.8K vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BBC Driver holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HopSkipDrive CareDriver has 7.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HopSkipDrive CareDriver ships an update fortnightly, BBC Driver every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
