# Stakeout vs Park Journal

The clearest difference is update cadence: Park Journal at every 2 days against Stakeout's every 2 months. Stakeout's advantage is ratings volume (7K vs 1) and chart position (#32 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stakeout sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Park Journal sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Stakeout against 5.0 for Park Journal. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stakeout has 7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Stakeout ships an update every 2 months, Park Journal every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
