# Meshtastic vs Volunteer Time Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: Meshtastic at 4.1 against Volunteer Time Tracker's 3.7. Meshtastic also leads on ratings volume (843 vs 3) and device support (5 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Meshtastic holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Meshtastic has 843 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Meshtastic's written reviews are positive against 50% of Volunteer Time Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Meshtastic ships an update weekly, Volunteer Time Tracker every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
