# Moon Pioneer vs Snap

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Snap at none against Moon Pioneer's 15. Snap also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). Moon Pioneer's advantage is ratings volume (36K vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Moon Pioneer sells 15 one-off in-app purchases. Snap asks for nothing beyond the download.

Snap holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Moon Pioneer has 36K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Moon Pioneer ships an update every 3 weeks, Snap every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
