# Specialized vs CoeLab

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CoeLab at 100% against Specialized's 50%. CoeLab also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Specialized's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 13). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CoeLab holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Specialized has 12K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Specialized's written reviews are positive against 100% of CoeLab's.

Specialized ships an update fortnightly, CoeLab every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
