# Hone Golf vs USGA

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hone Golf at 100% against USGA's 37%. Hone Golf also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). USGA's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (22K vs 9). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hone Golf sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. USGA asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hone Golf holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: USGA has 22K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Hone Golf's written reviews are positive against 37% of USGA's.

Hone Golf ships an update every 5 weeks, USGA every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
