# Noteful vs Livestock Protocols

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Noteful at 24K against Livestock Protocols's 1. Noteful also leads on iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). Livestock Protocols's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Noteful sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Livestock Protocols sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Livestock Protocols holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Noteful has 24K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Noteful ships an update fortnightly, Livestock Protocols every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
