# Basic vs ICE smart

The clearest difference is monetization model: ICE smart at free against Basic's free with in-app purchases. ICE smart also leads on iOS requirement (13 vs 15.1). Basic's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Basic holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Basic has 169 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 56% of Basic's written reviews are positive against 46% of ICE smart's.

Basic ships an update weekly, ICE smart monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
