# The Queen's Gambit Chess vs Basic AI Chess

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Basic AI Chess at none against The Queen's Gambit Chess's 1. Basic AI Chess also leads on device support (6 vs 2) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). The Queen's Gambit Chess's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 2). On price, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Queen's Gambit Chess sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per month. Basic AI Chess asks for nothing beyond the download.

The Queen's Gambit Chess holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Queen's Gambit Chess has 1.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of The Queen's Gambit Chess's written reviews are positive against 50% of Basic AI Chess's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
