# Fanity vs Vinyl Widget

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Fanity at 100% against Vinyl Widget's 48%. Fanity also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Vinyl Widget's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.3) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 3). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vinyl Widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Fanity asks for nothing beyond the download.

Vinyl Widget holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vinyl Widget has 2.4K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Fanity's written reviews are positive against 48% of Vinyl Widget's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fanity ships an update every 3 weeks, Vinyl Widget every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
