# USB Run! vs Gem Stack

The clearest difference is rating: Gem Stack at 4.6 against USB Run!'s 3.8. Gem Stack also leads on ratings volume (36K vs 10). USB Run!'s advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (50% vs 35%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gem Stack sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. USB Run! asks for nothing beyond the download.

Gem Stack holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gem Stack has 36K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of USB Run!'s written reviews are positive against 35% of Gem Stack's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 13, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
