# SafeBeacon vs CoachCat

The clearest difference is monetization model: CoachCat at free with in-app purchases against SafeBeacon's subscription. SafeBeacon's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and review sentiment (95% vs 76%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SafeBeacon sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and CoachCat sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SafeBeacon holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SafeBeacon has 1.4K ratings behind it against 81, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 95% of SafeBeacon's written reviews are positive against 76% of CoachCat's.

SafeBeacon ships an update every 9 days, CoachCat every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
