# The Public Void vs Eclipse

The clearest difference is rating: The Public Void at 5.0 against Eclipse's 4.3. The Public Void also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 76%) and device support (3 vs 1). Eclipse's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks) and ratings volume (27 vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Public Void holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Eclipse has 27 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of The Public Void's written reviews are positive against 76% of Eclipse's.

The Public Void ships an update every 2 weeks, Eclipse weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
