# ChessUp vs YAZO

The clearest difference is review sentiment: YAZO at 100% against ChessUp's 54%. YAZO also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). ChessUp's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (2.8K vs 14). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YAZO sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. ChessUp asks for nothing beyond the download.

YAZO holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ChessUp has 2.8K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 54% of ChessUp's written reviews are positive against 100% of YAZO's.

ChessUp ships an update every 2 weeks, YAZO every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
