# Zoox vs Hydra Charging

Zoox and Hydra Charging both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 93% of Zoox's written reviews are positive against 50% of Hydra Charging's. Zoox also leads on ratings volume (31K vs 2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). Hydra Charging's advantage is iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Zoox against 5.0 for Hydra Charging. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zoox has 31K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 93% of Zoox's written reviews are positive against 50% of Hydra Charging's.

Zoox ships an update fortnightly, Hydra Charging every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
