# Mystery Files vs Unsolved Case

Mystery Files and Unsolved Case both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Unsolved Case's written reviews are positive against 58% of Mystery Files's. Mystery Files's advantage is ratings volume (5.9K vs 105) and chart position (#178 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mystery Files sells 20 one-off in-app purchases and Unsolved Case sells 22 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Unsolved Case holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mystery Files has 5.9K ratings behind it against 105, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 58% of Mystery Files's written reviews are positive against 100% of Unsolved Case's.

Mystery Files ships an update fortnightly, Unsolved Case every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
