# Private Web Incognito Browser vs Skitter

The clearest difference is rating: Private Web Incognito Browser at 4.5 against Skitter's 3.5. Private Web Incognito Browser also leads on ratings volume (209 vs 6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). Skitter's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 22 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Private Web Incognito Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Private Web Incognito Browser has 209 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Private Web Incognito Browser's written reviews are positive against 67% of Skitter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Private Web Incognito Browser ships an update every 22 months, Skitter every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
