# Piano2Notes vs Crescendo Masters Edition

The clearest difference is rating: Piano2Notes at 4.3 against Crescendo Masters Edition's 3.9. Piano2Notes also leads on ratings volume (294 vs 7). Crescendo Masters Edition's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and review sentiment (50% vs 37%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Piano2Notes sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Crescendo Masters Edition sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Piano2Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Piano2Notes has 294 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of Piano2Notes's written reviews are positive against 50% of Crescendo Masters Edition's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Piano2Notes ships an update every 6 weeks, Crescendo Masters Edition fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
