# Carnomaly vs Petra

Carnomaly and Petra both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Carnomaly's written reviews are positive against 75% of Petra's. Petra's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (317 vs 13). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Carnomaly against 4.8 for Petra. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Petra has 317 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Carnomaly's written reviews are positive against 75% of Petra's.

Carnomaly ships an update every 2 months, Petra every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
