# Novel Dragon vs Eastern Novel

The clearest difference is ads: Eastern Novel at none against Novel Dragon's shown. Eastern Novel also leads on rating (4.0 vs 3.7). Novel Dragon's advantage is review sentiment (95% vs 75%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Novel Dragon sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Eastern Novel sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Eastern Novel holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Novel Dragon's written reviews are positive against 75% of Eastern Novel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Novel Dragon ships an update every 3 weeks, Eastern Novel every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
