# Flow vs Shadow Work

The clearest difference is ads: Shadow Work at none against Flow's shown. Shadow Work also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 9 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flow sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Shadow Work sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flow ships an update every 9 months, Shadow Work fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
