# WavePad Master's Edition vs Hopium

The clearest difference is update cadence: Hopium at every 10 days against WavePad Master's Edition's every 5 weeks. Hopium also leads on review sentiment (71% vs 57%). WavePad Master's Edition's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WavePad Master's Edition sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Hopium sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WavePad Master's Edition holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 87 and 34 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of WavePad Master's Edition's written reviews are positive against 71% of Hopium's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WavePad Master's Edition ships an update every 5 weeks, Hopium every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
