# Leaf Identification vs QR Maker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: QR Maker at 80% against Leaf Identification's 34%. Leaf Identification's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Leaf Identification sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and QR Maker sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Leaf Identification holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Leaf Identification has 1.4K ratings behind it against 153, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Leaf Identification's written reviews are positive against 80% of QR Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
