# Leaf Identification vs Color Cape

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Leaf Identification at 1.4K against Color Cape's 4. On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Leaf Identification sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Color Cape sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Color Cape holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Leaf Identification has 1.4K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Leaf Identification ships an update fortnightly, Color Cape every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
