# Unit Convert vs Public Mobile

Unit Convert and Public Mobile both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Unit Convert's written reviews are positive against 44% of Public Mobile's. Unit Convert also leads on device support (4 vs 1). Public Mobile's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Unit Convert sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Public Mobile asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Unit Convert against 4.5 for Public Mobile. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Public Mobile has 216 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Unit Convert's written reviews are positive against 44% of Public Mobile's.

Unit Convert ships an update every 3 months, Public Mobile every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
