# Shower Timer vs Dictation App

The clearest difference is update cadence: Dictation App at every 2 weeks against Shower Timer's every 6 months. Shower Timer's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shower Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Dictation App sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shower Timer ships an update every 6 months, Dictation App every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
