# SekurMail vs Encrypted Email

The clearest difference is rating: Encrypted Email at 3.9 against SekurMail's 3.0. Encrypted Email also leads on review sentiment (42% vs 21%) and ratings volume (111 vs 19). SekurMail's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Encrypted Email holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Encrypted Email has 111 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 21% of SekurMail's written reviews are positive against 42% of Encrypted Email's.

SekurMail ships an update fortnightly, Encrypted Email every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
