# mycos vs macalo

The clearest difference is ads: macalo at none against mycos's shown. mycos's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. mycos sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month and macalo sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

mycos ships an update every 4 days, macalo fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
