# PDF Editor vs FreePDF

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PDF Editor at 70% against FreePDF's 11%. PDF Editor also leads on rating (4.5 vs 1.8) and ratings volume (910 vs 5). FreePDF's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Editor sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and FreePDF sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Editor holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Editor has 910 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 70% of PDF Editor's written reviews are positive against 11% of FreePDF's.

PDF Editor ships an update fortnightly, FreePDF every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
