# FlowCrypt vs Swismail

The clearest difference is review sentiment: FlowCrypt at 50% against Swismail's 0%. FlowCrypt also leads on ratings volume (3 vs 1). Swismail's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Swismail holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of FlowCrypt's written reviews are positive against 0% of Swismail's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlowCrypt ships an update every 4 months, Swismail every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
