# OBC Reader vs Onmistory

The clearest difference is rating: Onmistory at 4.4 against OBC Reader's 2.8. Onmistory also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (174 vs 12). OBC Reader's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 37%) and in-app purchases (none vs 8). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Onmistory sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. OBC Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

Onmistory holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Onmistory has 174 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of OBC Reader's written reviews are positive against 37% of Onmistory's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OBC Reader ships an update every 2 months, Onmistory every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
